We are looking for a medior / senior Product Engineer to complement the Experience Cloud product team, where we provide the development environment for a large group of software developers and platform users. The Experience Cloud product team consists of various profiles, going from AI engineers, experienced PHP developers, frontend experts and Sysadmins. We are looking for an experienced engineer focusing on the infrastructure with a link to our product, with at least 3 years hands-on experience in management of infrastructure.

Next to continuous enhancement (e.g. source control management, software build and pipeline management, artifact storage, etc.) of the existing environment, we are implementing a Kubernetes alternative to our traditionally cloud-hosted environments. We are expanding our team to be able to deliver both the required enhancements and the new environment.

Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance & Updates: Ensure that various infrastructure components are consistently updated and maintained for optimal performance.
  • Security and compliancy Management: Implement and monitor security protocols to protect systems and data against threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Linux System Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge in Linux systems, leveraging Bash, Python, and other tools for effective system management.
  • Containerization Skills: Proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, managing containerized applications to enhance scalability and deployment efficiency.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Employ IaC tools like Ansible for automating infrastructure setup and management.
  • Cloud Management: Optimize cloud resource usage, focusing on cloud hyperscalers such as Google Cloud Platform for efficient infrastructure management.
  • Incident Response: Respond swiftly to infrastructure incidents, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous service availability.
  • Collaboration and Support: Actively collaborate with team members, providing vital infrastructure support and expertise to integrate seamlessly with overall system architecture.

You have:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on day-to-day experience with administering Linux-based infrastructure and LAMP stacks

  • Decent problem-solving skills and ability to refine and split up tasks into smaller pieces.

  • You can keep a cool head in case of incidents and infrastructure escalations and can help solve them in a timely matter
  • Thorough knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash.

  • Experience with a number of the following tools and technologies:

    • Git or Git-based source control systems (GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub).

    • CI/CD tooling like GitLab-CI or Jenkins.

    • Caching software Varnish, Redis en/of Memcache

    • Infrastructure as Code tools like Ansible, Salt, or equivalent tooling.

    • Container technology, e.g. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm.

    • Hyperscalers like GCP, AWS, Azure, ...

  • Preferably some experience with Scrum / Kanban / SAFe methodologies.

  • Preferably experience with working in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Bonus: Knowledge of classical network technologies as IP networking, VPNs, DNS, load balancing and firewalling.
