Hybrid Platform

An open DXP allows you to choose a hybrid setup that suits you best: Cloud 2 Cloud, Cloud 2 Prem, Cloud 2 Remote, or Cloud 2 Cluster.

What is hybrid?

Hybrid can mean a lot of things. For example, a hybrid car gives power from an electrical and combustion-based engine. But in this case, we’re not talking about cars. We’re talking about software architecture. The concept, however, is transferable. It can mean a combination of on-premise with cloud - as service - infrastructure or a combination of one cloud provider with another cloud provider. Let’s have a look!

Why a hybrid setup?

Cloud is here to stay. Many of our clients already have tons of applications running either in public, private, or on-prem “clouds“. At Dropsolid, we focussed on running the most Open Digital Experience Platform based on Drupal, Mautic, and Apache Unomi. This also is often hosted in the cloud. Connecting these pieces brings you to a hybrid setup

Cloud 2 Cloud

If you plan on using Dropsolid Experience Cloud as a service - for example, for your marketing automation - we can connect the Dropsolid Experience Cloud to your cloud provider of choice. In essence, this means that we manage and host the Digital Experience Platform and connect it to your systems securely.

Cloud 2 cloud

Cloud 2 Prem

Dropsolid Experience Cloud has the possibility to connect to systems managed by your operations teams. This gives your the power of the platform with all its goodies (CICD, development efficiency) and gives you control over the infrastructure used for hosting. This means you manage the underlying systems, and we deploy the Digital Experience Platform’s tools (Drupal CMS or Mautic Marketing automation) to your stack.

Cloud 2 Remote

This setup is very similar to “Cloud 2 Prem". Keep in mind that deploying to some countries or infrastructures is harder, however. China has a great firewall, which makes deploying directly harder. The banking industry requires more rigorous checks. Given a third-party setup, Dropsolid Experience Cloud can push the website to this remote environment.

Cloud 2 Cluster

Dropsolid Experience Cloud is constantly innovating. Hosting on Kubernetes is certainly possible. We can connect the Dropsolid management platform to your cluster. You can even have a cluster on AWS and a cluster on Azure and we’ll happily provision them with all needed components.
